Klavže 28 is special. At the end of a winding gravel road you come upon two restored farmhouses nestled in 9 hectares of meadow, forest, and rivers. Cozy rooms with views of the Julian Alps, perfect for peaceful sleep after a day outside exploring. Start your day with a nourishing homemade breakfast and end it around the fire with great people and a glass of local wine.
Klavže 28 is the perfect homebase for spring, summer, and fall activities. The Soča Valley is known for outdoor activities like white-water rafting, paragliding, mountain biking, or hikes and river swims. WWI and WWII history is all around us, with historical sites within walking distance. 40 minute’s drive away, the Goriska Brda wine region is full of incredible Slovene and Italian vitners. And if you’re looking to simply stay on the property, there are river swimming spots 5 minute’s walk from your room complete with hammocks and chairs for curling up with a book. An early morning cold plunge in the Baca river is a favorite guest tradition.
Food is our passion. Grown in our biodynamic garden or sourced locally from neighbors’ farms – good ingredients are a big part of life here. Our breakfasts are nourishing and delicious. We support Slovenian natural winemakers with our large winecellar.
Klavže 28 shifts with the seasons. Trout fishing is big during spring and fall. In the spring the abundance of wild garlic in our forest and nettles in the field make a perfect ingredient for our garlic nettle pesto. Summer brings fresh produce from the garden, fireflies, and lazy river picnics. Fall’s crisp air is perfect for mountain hikes and wine tasting.
